At Niepoort, we believe that the color of this wine should be inspired by ruby, like a precious gemstone. Ruby Niepoort ages for an average of three years. The grapes for Ruby Niepoort come from low-yielding old vineyards in the Cima Corgo region of the Douro Valley. It matures in large wooden vats in the cellars of Niepoort in Vila Nova de Gaia. Ruby Niepoort is fresh, young, and fruity, with aromas of cherries and other red fruits. An expressive Port full of character, Ruby can be enjoyed for several years, although aging does not improve the wine. It does not have sediment and does not require decanting. Serve it after a meal, on its own or with buttery cheeses.
